Don’t like that I can barely see the burner underneath
I've cooked on glass stove tops for a long time. My first was bomb-proof, heavy cooking for a family of 4 and easy clean-up, no scratches. Was so happy with it, when I moved I got another glass-top instead of gas. I was surprised when I scratched it, several times. I had a full-warranty and the glass top was replaced. I asked questions on why this one was easily scratched and he said nearly 100 percent of glass tops are made by the same manufacturer and they are not the same quality. Now this was 15 years ago. I got my third glass top stove 2 years ago and it's a high-end model hoping it may have a better top. It scratched too, and the cost to replace it was a cool $1200. Changing to gas was out of the question and after researching how to fix the scratch I stumbled on Burner Buddy. The feed back from this company is 100 percent. Your emails will be answered (and I usually have lots of questions). How well does it work. I am very happy with it. My back burners were dimmer then the front and my kitchen has lots of windows, very bright so there was an issue with seeing them in mid-day. I solved that with tiny magnets on the steel edge that actually look like its part of the stove top. The top is easy to place down and lift up, and I only opted to use the smaller bumpers at the top cutouts, doesn't slide if positioned correctly. I can feel the heat immediately when I turn the stove on and happily I couldn't descern any time difference in heat-up. This glass top is 1/4 inch thick and the transfer of heat is immediate. The other nice thing is the after burn such as when you want to steep tea is really long. Asthetics wise... looks fantastic. I much more like the appearance of the stove top with out the burner circles. It looks very sleek and I am happy to say it does clean up easier. As much as I don't care to slide my cookware, its easier to move my steel fryers and pans. The key is to clean up the stove top after using it. I've done that religiously with all my stoves, just don't care for the scratches and I'm not going to baby a stove-top when I have heavy cooking to do. This is a real good option for people that like to keep a kitchen looking good without worrying about actually using your gear. Ending with... thank you for ever it was that kept in touch with me, you a very nice person.
I was thrilled to find Burner Buddy and they went out of their way to help solve my problem of a cracked glass top on my stove. They were always prompt to reply to all my questions They specially modified one of their new pieces so that it exactly fit in place. My whole experience, from start to perfect finish was flawless.and very pleasant and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result
I ordered this to protect the glass stove top. It turned out very well. This company custom cut one to fit my stove. They were great to work with!
I got this to cover my existing glass top because it was gross (I rent and just moved in). I figured it would help with avoiding scratching / burning thins onto the existing glass as well as looking prettier.
Installation was fairly easy. It didn't fit perfectly, there was about an inch of gap at the back so I guess I measured wrong. The bumpers seem to be working though- they provided rubber thingies to hold it in place and I used all of them.
I've had it for 14 days but only tried cooking today. It works, but is already scratched somehow. It's a deep scratch, probably from putting something on the stove top while unpacking.
I'm glad I didn't scratch the actual stove top, but I'm guessing this will be toast in a couple years. Still worth the price to avoid damaging the actual stove!
